Ivy Muigai
Communications Specialist, Food Program

Ivy Muigai serves as the Communications Specialist for the WRI Africa Food Program, where she focuses on amplifying the research and impact of the team’s work across the continent. Her role involves generating positive visibility for initiatives that address critical challenges within African food systems.
Before joining WRI, Ivy held the position of Communications Officer, Media and Public Engagement at World Vision Kenya. There, she contributed significantly to storytelling and public engagement strategies for the child-focused NGO. Prior to that, she was a Communications Specialist at ROAM Africa and Zetech University, where she honed her skills in corporate communications and brand management.
Ivy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Daystar University, Kenya, where she built a strong foundation in media and public relations. She has since expanded her expertise with various certifications in digital marketing, equipping her with advanced skills in online strategy, social media management, and digital content creation. In 2020, Ivy was recognized as one of the top 25 women in digital in Kenya.
When not working, Ivy enjoys spending quality time with her family in Kenya, where she resides.
