Ginny Hain is originally South African, but grew up mostly in the US (childhood in Kentucky then all around the Mideast and Pacific Northwest). In her career, she has largely been centered in the impact sector—with positions spread across risk management, strategy, and communications. Her risk journey within that includes reputational risk mitigation at the Rainforest Alliance; ESG risk management integration into a cosmetic start-up’s first CSR strategy; and addressing crisis situations for Outward Bound, among other roles.

After initially moving to The Netherlands for a sustainability-focused MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management, Ginny transitioned to Amsterdam where she lives now. Outside of work, you can often find Ginny running long distances, dabbling in all varieties of cooking and baking, and trying to be outdoors as much as possible – often through travel.

Ginny chose WRI because of its research-led approach, its global spread of passionate staff, and the role itself, among other reasons.
