Gazal has been working as a human resource professional with specialization in total rewards for 22+ years. She started her career with the Technology & Consulting industry in India with organizations like Hewlett Packard and Aon Associates. She moved to the international NGO sector 18 years ago as she is passionate about bringing the fit for purpose reward practices to the development sector that balances the values of the sector but fairly rewards the passionate workforce of this sector. She has been part of this specialist function with international NGOs like Save the Children, Oxfam, American Red Cross, worked with Microfinance accelerators supporting early stage MFIs in Asia and Africa and lead the function for South Korea based intergovernmental organization Global Green Growth Institute. She has lived in America, India, South Korea and now the UK. She is a graduate in Statistics and MBA in Human Resources. She is certified by CIPD and Global Remuneration professional by World at Work. She continues to contribute to the reward community of the development sector through industry specific forums and is part of the Global Advisory Group of the Birches Group.

Her roots are in India but she lives in the UK with her husband, 12 year old son and her 8 year old golden retriever (who has also lived in 3 countries now). She loves the outdoors, travel and exploring new cultures. She is a beaver leader in the local Scouts chapter.

Fun fact - Gazal has recently started learning Golf and Swimming as she believes it's never too late to start. She cannot handle very spicy food but always ends up making very spicy Indian curries. Her father named her Gazal (look up Ghazal) hoping she will sing but she can only unwind listening to some good music.
