Clemens W. Janssen
User Research & Engagement Lead

Clemens W. Janssen is a user research and engagement lead in the WRI’s Data Lab. He is tasked with ensuring that user needs sit at the heart of WRI’s powerful data science products. He designs and manages user research initiatives to inform new tools and services and serves as the focal point between users and software development teams in order to make WRI’s software products widely accessible and engaging.
Prior to joining WRI, Clemens was a physical therapist in Austria, conducted clinical research at the University of Arizona's Department of Psychiatry and spent the last 10+ years in SaaS companies, helping teams to better understand their users and identifying jobs they are seeking to get done with software.
Clemens holds a PhD in Family and Consumer Sciences, a Master's degree in Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
He lives in the beautiful state of Wisconsin with his wife, son, one dog and two cats. In addition, he and his family are working on building their own self-sustaining homestead in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, applying the principles of permaculture farming.
