Christopher Gillespie is a Project Specialist & Research Coordinator for Cities4Forests. Prior to joining the initiative, Christopher worked as a Research & Communications Intern at WRI supporting the Coalition for Urban Transitions on the composition and launch of its flagship Seizing the Urban Opportunity report, released at COP26. Previously he has contributed to evaluation, project coordination, and research activities for a joint Israeli-Palestinian wastewater management project led by American University’s School of International Service.

Christopher holds a master’s degree in Global Environmental Policy from the School of International Service (SIS). His graduate background is in forest conservation, forest landscape restoration policy, and natural resources management. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Bates College.

Chris lives in Washington, DC. In his spare time, Chris loves hiking, traveling the world, and playing soccer.
