Avelina Ruiz
Climate Change Manager, WRI Mexico
Avelina Ruiz is the Climate Change Manager at WRI Mexico.
She is a senior climate change professional with over 10 years of significant experience managing urban projects, developing knowledge tools and fostering stakeholders´ capacities.
She worked at the Inter-American Development Bank´s (IADB) Housing and Urban Development, was Environmental Policy Specialist at the Clean Air Institute, Advisor of the Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons at the Ministry of Energy in Mexico (SENER), coordinator of the transport Program at the NGO Presencia Ciudadana and Technical Coordinator of Citizen Observatory of Mexico City. As independent consultant she lead environmental studies funded by the UNDP and the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CCA). As Associate, she contributed to the creation of CTS-Mexico.
Avelina holds a Master Degree in International Political Economy at the University of Warwick, Great Britain and a Bachelor Degree in International Relations at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
