Alex Eastham
Knowledge Manager, Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU)
Alex Eastham joined FOLU in January 2024 and is the Knowledge Manager in the Knowledge Generation Team. She brings over a decade of experience working on labour and gender rights in global value chains and currently leads FOLU’s engagement on agri-food value chains and contributes to FOLU's business engagement and finance strategies. Alex has also played a role in FOLU’s global evidence base on regenerative agriculture, supporting the coalition’s efforts to scale evidence-based solutions that benefit people, nature, and climate.
Before joining FOLU, Alex was Head of Women and Markets in CARE International’s global Women’s Economic Justice team. She led strategic partnerships with companies, UN agencies, and academic institutions to advance women’s rights and dignity, and worked closely with farmers and garment workers around the world to design and deliver women’s economic empowerment programmes. Her work has spanned from factory floors to multinational boardrooms, addressing poor working conditions and championing the rights of farmers and workers.
Through her work, Alex supports FOLU’s mission to transform food and land use systems and help drive collective action toward a net-zero, nature-positive world.
Outside of work, Alex is a passionate gardener and is lovingly cultivating her London garden to nourish both her family and the local wildlife.
