Building Capacity of Public Development Banks to Mainstream Climate
WRI’s experts are closely following the UN climate talks. Watch our Resource Hub for new articles, research, webinars and more.
This session will explore how public development banks (PDBs) are integrating climate considerations from their strategic level to their operations. By mainstreaming climate into the financing of operations within countries at the sub-national level into economic activities, banks contribute to the global climate mitigation and adaptation objectives. Panelists from PDBs at the multilateral, bilateral, and national level will discuss practical strategies to mainstream climate considerations and how they integrate their own commitments into their operations. Participants will also identify and discuss gaps in capacity and resources that are limiting the deployment and scale of investments in climate mitigation and adaptation and highlight the types of solutions they are calling for at COP29.
This event is co-organized by WRI with E3G, CPI, I4CE, NewClimate Institute, and individual public development banks.
