WRI China, PBF Secretariat, China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals Importers and Exporters and Chinese mining companies are collaborating to identify pragmatic and sustainable ways to unlock green mining investment. On the sidelines of CBD, and with the 3 basins countries, PBF, WRI China and the mining organizations hope to convene a multi-stakeholder forum focusing on sustainable/green mining. 

The forum will:

  • Share lessons: Sharing examples of how development and ecosystem conservation go hand in hand in the mining sector, and the benefits on livelihoods, building resilience and human development.
  • Make a case for commercialization: Showcase examples of bankable proposals for investment in nature action within the mining sector and offer guidance.
  • Drive for wider adoption/engagement: Building upon the standards/framework and cases developed, call for wider adoption and engagement and plan for the next step
