A Deep Dive into the Roadmap to Net Zero for the Apparel Sector
In November 2021, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) published the Roadmap to Net Zero: Delivering Science-Based Targets in the Apparel Sector. In it, WRI and Aii provided a fresh estimate of apparel-sector greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and outlined six steps the sector must take to reduce GHG emissions at a pace aligned with a 1.5°C temperature increase scenario - 45% by 2030 and net zero by 2050.
The report also outlines the potential role that the circular economy might play to reduce emissions.
On February 24 (8-9AM PST / 11AM-12PM EST), representatives from WRI and Aii will present key findings of the Roadmap and discuss plans for future webinars to dive deeper into energy- and materials-related interventions. They will be joined by individuals from Higg and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition which provided analytical expertise for the sector GHG estimate.
There will be time for questions for the webinar presenters.
