About This Webinar

Every day we see the social unrest triggered by policies or decisions perceived to be unfair or corrupt.

Coming at an extremely relevant time, this webinar convenes world class experts to introduce new research examining the role of equity in securing a sustainable ocean economy – one that puts people at the centre.

As part of a series of blue papers commissioned by the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy, this paper highlights that we still have a long way to go but sets out a clear and achievable pathway that we can start to implement now.

During the webinar, the authors will share their reflections on the paper and its suggested opportunities for action, followed by a panel discussion on how we embed equity into the various aspects of the ocean economy.

Panelists will explore examples of success stories and specific pathways for change within different sectoral and geographic contexts, such as food, climate, technology and IUU fishing, while recognizing the unique barriers each context presents.

Following the discussion, panelists will take attendee questions.
