These are the special Copyright and Terms of Service under which you may use the NDC 3.0 Navigator (the “Website”). Please read this carefully. If you do not accept the Copyright and Terms of Service stated herein, do not use this Website. By using this Website, you are accepting to be bound by these Copyright and Terms of Service.

General Terms of Use

This Website is hosted by the World Resources Institute (“WRI”) and is subject to the General Terms of Use listed on the legal notices page of the WRI website. This Special Terms of Service for the NDC 3.0 Navigator is intended to be additive to the WRI General Terms of Use.  The NDC 3.0 Navigator Special Terms of Service shall control if a conflict of terms exists between the WRI General Terms of Use and the Special Terms of Service for this Website

This Website was developed by WRI in collaboration with the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement (the “secretariat”) and compiles information and resources on development of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC). All use of materials provided on this Website must follow the Terms of Use herein, including reproduction or transmission, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording or the use of any information storage and retrieval system. 

Any use, copying or reproduction of the WRI logo and/or the UNFCCC logo in any way require prior written authorization. Requests for permission to use the logo of the secretariat should be sent to the Communications and Engagement Division, webmaster@unfccc.int. Requests for permission to use the logo of WRI should be sent to supportunit@ndcpartnership.org.

All UNFCCC official texts, data and documents, found on this Website, are in the public domain and may be freely downloaded, copied and printed provided no change to the content is introduced, and the source is duly acknowledged.

   1. Overview
      By visiting this Website, you are accepting the below Privacy provisions concerning the gathering and sharing of your information through the Website. These Privacy provisions should be read in conjunction with the Privacy Policy of WRI located in the legal notices page of its website. In the case of any discrepancy or conflict between these Privacy provisions and the Privacy Policy of WRI, these Privacy provisions shall prevail. 
   2. Anonymous Website usage
      By accessing this Website, certain information about the User, such as Internet protocol (IP) addresses, navigation through the Website, the software used and the time spent, along with other similar information, will be stored on servers of WRI. These will not specifically identify the User. The information will be used internally only for Website traffic analysis.
      
      WRI also processes this data to keep the Website secure and problem-free. WRI keeps logs of connections to this Website so that WRI can detect and prevent malicious activity. The logs contain your IP address (which can reveal your geographical location), the date and time of your connection, the pages you have visited in what order and for how long, and the browser you are using (which can reveal the device you are using as well). WRI will make no use of this data on an individual level unless the traffic looks like an attack, in which case WRI will block the connection.    3. Collection and retention of personally identifiable information
      If you register for a newsletter, create an account, request information, wish to contribute content to the Website, provide feedback, join a discussion group or join an electronic mailing list, you will be asked to provide personal information such as your name, postal address and e-mail address.  This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission and is kept in various WRI databases.

      With regards Users of this Website, WRI does not disclose to third parties, User’s personal information, combined personal and demographic information or information about her/his use of the Website (such as areas a User visits or the services a User accesses), except to the following parties:

   5. Use of cookies
      A cookie is a text file that is placed on the User’s hard drive by a web page server. Cookies are not used to run programs or deliver viruses to the User’s computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to the User’s computer and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to the User. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the Website.

      WRI may use the personal information you provide for the following purposes:
      • providing, developing, improving and maintaining WRI’s services;
      • providing you with updates, newsletters, data, and/or other research, you have requested, and which WRI may also provide to the secretariat and its programmes so that they can contact you as well;

      Providing personal information on this Website is optional.  If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still browse and use the Website, but you will not be able to carry out certain actions such as creating an account or registering for a newsletter.

      At any time, you can correct, update, cancel or modify your information by returning to the web page where you first provided the information, by contacting WRI at supportunit@ndcpartnership.org, or, in certain instances such as creating an account, logging into your account and changing the information there.
      
      You may elect to receive communications such as newsletters and other materials from WRI and/or the secretariat. If you do, you will have the opportunity to stop receiving such communications at any time by logging into your account on the Website and editing your contact preferences or by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails.
      
      WRI will delete all your personally identifiable information and any copies at the date of termination or expiration of this collaboration project or upon the fulfillment of its specified purpose(s), whichever is sooner.

      WRI does not sell or share any personally identifiable information volunteered on this Website to any third party without prior consent. WRI under no circumstances will use or share your personally identifiable information for commercial purposes. WRI may, however, share some user information with the secretariat, its programmes and/or affiliates so that the secretariat can respond to your needs. 
      
      WRI employs a range of techniques and security measures based on best practices to protect the information maintained on our system from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. The secretariat does not assume any responsibility for the security of your personally identifiable information.
