Laurel is an Event Coordinator at the World Resources Institute (WRI), where she has worked since 2024. With a background in community engagement and sustainability advocacy, Laurel focuses on producing events that showcase WRI’s work to a global audience. She oversees the Harmon Center at WRI's DC office and supports day-of coordination for institutional events in DC as well as for New York Climate Week. She has assisted in the coordination and execution of WRI's Board meetings and regularly produces global webinars.

Before joining WRI, Laurel was the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWRCCC) from 2022 to 2024. There, she honed her skills in event planning and promotion, advocating for clean and sustainable transportation solutions in the region.

Prior to her tenure at GWRCCC, Laurel was the South Sound BIPOC Business Engagement Representative at the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce in Washington State. In this capacity, she championed the interests of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) owned businesses, facilitating networking opportunities and spearheading initiatives to bolster support for underrepresented entrepreneurs.

Throughout her career, Laurel has remained committed to advancing inclusivity and environmental sustainability. Her passion for empowering marginalized communities has guided her professional endeavors.

Laurel holds a BA in Communication and Media from Seattle University. Beyond work, Laurel enjoys singing, playing sports, traveling, and gardening.
