Lara Caccia
Urban Adaptation Coordinator, WRI Brasil Ross Center for Sustainable Cities
Lara Caccia is the Urban Adaptation Coordinator at WRI Brasil. She is part of the Urban Development team of the Cities Program and leads projects that contribute to sustainable urban planning, to the reduction of inequalities and to the management of disaster risks, aiming to promote more inclusive and adapted cities, focusing on nature-based solutions and climate justice.
Lara has been working with integrated planning and urban public policies since 2012. At WRI Brasil, she worked for more than ten years as a Specialist in Urban Development. She has experience in the areas of urban mobility, active transport, social housing, energy efficiency and urban and environmental planning. Her work focuses on research, training and technical support for municipalities, and on articulating policies in favor of the sustainability agenda in cities.
Lara is a Geographer and has a master’s degree in Geography at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with an emphasis on urban geography and territorial analysis. Before joining WRI Brasil, Lara worked at the State Foundation for Metropolitan and Regional Planning – Metroplan, on projects related to public transport and metropolitan BRT systems.
