Daphne Carliez
Countries Director, FOLU
Daphné Carliez is the Countries Director for the Food and Land Use Coalition. With over 15 years of experience, she has worked across Africa, Asia, and Europe with the UN, international NGOs, and the private sector. Daphné focuses on addressing complex environmental and social challenges, particularly in food systems, climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development.
Before joining WRI, she held roles at WWF-International and the United Nations World Food Programme, where she led and supported initiatives on sustainability, food security, climate resilience, and conservation. Daphné’s work involved collaborating with governments, businesses, and local communities, driving multi-country initiatives and strategic partnerships to deliver impactful, long-term solutions. Daphné holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences and an MSc in Strategic Marketing. Outside of work, she enjoys ceramics, a hobby she discovered in South Africa.
