Amanda Barreto Salgueiro
Research Intern, Global Restoration Initiative

Amanda Barreto is a Research Intern for the Global Restoration Initiative. She works to support the Land Accelerator and TerraMatch teams, researching and creating program materials for restoration finance and capacity building.
Prior to joining WRI, Amanda’s work focused on climate, ranging from drafting local climate adaptation plans to carrying out research funded by the National Science Foundation in Alaska. Amanda also contributes to the Women Speak database for the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network, focused on Biodiversity and Forest Protection.
Amanda grew up in southeast Brazil and holds a B.A in Global Studies and Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University. She is currently based in D.C and enjoys gardening, live jazz performances and cooking with friends.
