UN climate negotiations taking place this year represent a major opportunity to address the needs of vulnerable countries, especially related to adaptation, resilience and loss and damage. Vulnerable countries’ urgent needs are underscored by the recent work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which revealed the devastating climate impacts we are already experiencing with just 1.1°C of warming — and how much worse things will get as temperatures climb to 1.5°C and beyond. What is needed now is real, on-the-ground action and support to address climate risks that will deliver justice for vulnerable countries and communities.

On Friday June 10, join members of the Allied for Climate Transformation by 2025 (ACT2025) consortium live from the UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn, Germany where speakers from around the world will lay down the foundations for success on these critical issues. You will hear from leading scientists, negotiators and advocates on why it is crucial for governments to unlock funding that helps countries adapt to climate impacts, address losses and damages and the steps necessary to deliver it. Experts will also assess whether progress is being made on these topics within the negotiation rooms and what is needed between now and the UN Climate Summit in Egypt to reach an ambitious and just COP27 outcome.
