Stockholm+50: WRI Joins Global Leaders to Discuss Action for Change
Stockholm+50 commemorates the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment and celebrates 50 years of global environmental action. Stockholm+50 is hosted by Sweden with support from the Government of Kenya. It recognizes the importance of multilateralism and need for international partnerships to tackle the Earth’s triple planetary crisis – climate change, nature & biodiversity loss, and pollution. The event will convene global leaders from governments, businesses, academia and civil society to accelerate the bold and urgent action needed to secure a better future on a health planet.
WRI will be participating in various side events and bilateral meetings on topics pertaining to fast tracking resilience and adaptation including:
- ways to support partner countries in the implementation of their adaptation priorities;
- financing the transition to a nature positive future;
- addressing the gap between public and private partnership on blue and green financing;
- accelerating nature-positive corporate and collective action.
