More than 80 organizations have endorsed the Principles for Locally Led Adaptation (LLA) as of September 2022; the task is now in translating these principles into tangible action and addressing implementation challenges.

In this session, we will announce endorsements of the Principles for LLA from governments, funders, civil society, and development partners. Through the framing of how adaptation decision-making process and finance can support bottom-up, locally led initiatives, this event will highlight various new LLA commitments and actions around the globe.

We will also hear from implementing entities, such as grassroots organizations, and critically discuss what it takes to scale up action. The event will shine a light on the outcomes from pre-COP LLA stakeholder dialogues, and will be framed as collectively agreed upon areas of mutual learning, action, and strategies for overcoming bottlenecks such as predictable funding.
