Leticia Hirosue
Senior Urban Adaptation Analyst

Leticia Hirosue is a Senior Urban Adaptation Analyst at WRI Brazil and a member of the Urban Development team of the Cities Program. She works on projects concentrated on sustainable urban planning with a focus on urban resilience, nature-based solutions, environmental conservation, disaster risk management and climate justice aiming to reduce inequalities and vulnerabilities in Brazilian cities to make them more inclusive, resilient and adapted to the climate emergency.
Prior to joining WRI Brasil, Leticia has worked in consulting firms (ICF International and Ramboll) and as an independent consultant developing projects focused on integrated urban-environmental planning, sustainability, urban requalification, resilient cities, disaster risk reduction, physical climate risk assessment, measures and strategies for mitigating and adapting to climate change, port and infrastructure planning with the insertion of a climate perspective, and renewable energy for clients in the public and private sectors such as the IDB, UNDP, World Bank, DFID-UK, C40, the Federal Prosecution Service, the Federal Government and city governments. She has also worked in the third sector (Caritas Brasileira) providing technical advice to the Commission of People Affected by the Fundão Dam (CABF), in the post-disaster aftermath in Mariana, to carry out the damage and loss assessment (material, immaterial and collective assets) through a participatory process with social mapping and technical inspections.
Leticia holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the State University of Londrina (UEL) and a master's degree in International Planning and Sustainable Development from the University of Westminster (UoW), with an emphasis on urban resilience, disaster risk reduction and climate change.
