Antonio is the Data & Monitoring Manager of the Food, Land & Water Program at WRI Brasil. He leads data governance and monitoring processes applied to forest restoration and land use, with a focus on ensuring quality, accessibility, and integration across different information sources. His work involves managing geospatial and socio-environmental data, as well as developing strategies to monitor progress and evaluate impacts.

Throughout his professional career, Antonio has accumulated more than a decade of experience in remote sensing, geospatial analysis, data science, and data governance. He has worked as a project coordinator and manager in public and private institutions, leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of analytical solutions, data governance maturity assessments, and the design of policies and strategic plans for Brazilian agencies such as SFB, INCRA, MMA, MAPA, ANA, MPF, INFRA S.A., and MIDR. He has also collaborated on national initiatives led by organizations such as UNDP and GIZ.

He holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), a postgraduate degree in Forest Sciences with a focus on landscape monitoring through Remote Sensing, and was a fellow of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) at the Foothills Facility for Remote Sensing and GIScience, University of Calgary. He also holds an MBA in Data Science & Analytics from the University of São Paulo (USP). Antonio is passionate about bike touring and has cycled across several countries in South America, Europe, and Oceania.
