The Adaptation Action Coalition was developed by the UK in partnership with Egypt, Bangladesh, Malawi, the Netherlands, Saint Lucia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The founding members, plus Colombia, Fiji, Ghana, Japan, Nepal, and the USA make up the Steering Committee.

The AAC Secretariat facilitates peer to peer knowledge exchange on sectoral and cross-sectoral topics of climate change adaptation between member countries across the global north and south. It engages its wide network through sharing adaptation best practices, common challenges and solutions, as well as scaling up the use of technical tools and methodologies developed by its workstreams.

With 42 current members, the membership continues to grow as the Coalition expands its reach across the globe. The AAC is open to all UN member states (plus the European Union). Click here for more information on joining the AAC.
