Rodrigo Bellezoni
Project Coordinator, Supply Chains, WRI Brasil

As Project Coordinator for Supply Chains at WRI Brasil, I work in the Forests Program focusing on land use change, sustainability, and policies aimed at deforestation-free agricultural supply chains, particularly in connection with international markets. My work integrates technical expertise, research, initiative evaluation, and stakeholder engagement to promote transparency and traceability in supply chains, supporting public policies to combat deforestation and conserve native vegetation.
Before joining WRI Brasil, I served as a Public Policy Specialist at the Center for Territorial Intelligence (CIT - UFMG), where I developed initiatives for monitoring and traceability in agricultural and mineral supply chains. I contributed to the development of territorial intelligence tools tailored to local governments and aligned with global demands.
In academia, I hold a PhD in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ and the University of Technology Sydney, where I investigated the impacts of biofuel production on water, energy, food, and climate systems. Previously, I worked as a senior researcher at FGV and the Yale School of the Environment, exploring nature-based urban solutions and the water-energy-food-climate nexus.
With over 10 years of experience in environment, energy, and climate sectors, I focus on topics such as land use change, environmental and energy policies, circular bioeconomy, and global supply chains. My goal is to contribute to the transition toward a low-carbon economy and sustainable development, translating technical and academic insights into practical solutions for companies, governments, and society.
