Praveen has been working on climate change – in one form or another – for over twenty years. His career includes experience working in the private sector, consultancy, government, and multilaterals. He loves to better understand opposing viewpoints and identify common ground.

He trained as a marine biologist and worked to support coral reef management in Fiji, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. After a stint working in environmental conflict resolution, Praveen joined the UK’s Department of International Development as a climate change adviser. He helped develop Ethiopia’s national response to climate change and continued this work at the Global Green Growth Institute. To better understand climate finance he then managed BRACED, a $200m climate adaptation & resilience fund with projects in Asia and Africa. Following this, he worked in the Indonesian Government on peatland strategy. Most recently, he has been Countries and Impact Director at the Food & Land Use Coalition.

The common thread through these various experiences is a belief in the power of public policy to drive system change. He joins the World Resources Institute in London as Director of the Resilience & Adaptation Mainstreaming Program (RAMP).
