Agimasie is a Research Associate with the Climate, Economics and Finance Team, based in Addis Ababa. He supports Ethiopia’s climate policy processes, including the development of NDC 3.0, the establishment of the Climate Data Portal, and the update of the national Environment and Climate Change Policy. He also contributes to climate and economic modeling, institutional capacity building, and multi-stakeholder engagement.

Before joining WRI, Agimasie worked with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Planning and Development in economic policy, research, and economic modeling. He contributed to national development planning, System Dynamics modeling, Social Accounting Matrix development, macroeconomic analysis, SDG financing assessments, and national monitoring and evaluation initiatives. He also worked on the National Labour Market Information System project at the Ministry of Labour and Skills.

Agimasie holds an MEng in Environmental Science from Tongji University, the UNEP Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development in Shanghai, China. He also holds an MSc in Economics, specializing in Economic Policy Analysis, from Addis Ababa University, and a BSc in Statistics from Aksum University.
