Caroline is the Head of Responsible Supply Chains within the Food, Land & Water Program. In this role she facilitates strategic alignment across WRI’s growing portfolio of work to advance deforestation and conversion-free supply chains, championing the implementation of this strategy with actors across the institution and securing external partnerships and resources to deliver impact. She also drives strategies on voluntary corporate action for responsible supply chains, launching relevant projects and managing relationships with agribusiness stakeholders.

Previously, Caroline was instrumental in developing, securing strategic partnerships for, and overseeing the evolution of WRI’s Global Forest Watch Pro platform, leading this team for a time. GFW Pro has been used by hundreds of agribusiness actors to achieve supply chain sustainability. She was also critical in bringing WRI’s offers to the cocoa sector in West Africa and spearheading innovative solutions for tackling cocoa-driven deforestation, including a partnership with WCF and 19 cocoa and chocolate companies. In addition, she developed ethical guidelines for WRI’s handling of smallholder farm data which has been leveraged internally and externally to inform supply chain data standards.

Prior to joining WRI, Caroline worked with The Nature Conservancy’s Freshwater Program in Gabon, Central Africa. In this role, she identified how the palm oil, rubber, timber, mining and road construction sectors impact freshwater resources and practical solutions for mitigating this. Previously, she worked with the National Park Agency of Gabon and a global timber company to produce timber best practice guidelines for the buffer zones surrounding Gabon’s national parks.

Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Archaeology from Boston University, and a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University.
