Gabby Hyman
Clean Energy Research Assistant

Gabby Hyman is a Clean Energy Research Assistant on the U.S. Energy Team. She supports research and coordination for WRI’s domestic energy projects for local governments and accelerating the development of clean firm power resources.
Previously at WRI, Gabby interned on the Government Affairs team and supported advancing WRI’s legislative priorities by conducting and preparing research, reports, and communication materials to inform strategic engagement with Congress and federal agencies. During a six-month study abroad semester in Santiago, Chile, Gabby was a research intern at Fiscalía del Medio Ambiente (the Environmental Prosecutor’s Office), where she authored a Spanish report on the socio-environmental impact of Chinese multilateral development banks’ investments in Latin America’s lithium and transportation sectors. While at WashU, she worked as a research assistant for the Data-driven Analysis of Peace Project to investigate UN peacekeepers’ effectiveness in mitigating conflict over climate-change-related stressors in Africa.
Gabby holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy with a second major in History and a minor in Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis. Outside of classes, she was a tour guide, a volunteer tutor in the St. Louis area, and a member of two campus green groups.
Gabby lives in Washington, D.C., and enjoys volunteering, cooking, and hiking.
