As Strategic Lead, Cities - Europe, Steven is leading efforts to deepen and strengthen the Cities Programme in Europe, building strategic partnerships, fundraising and ideating to support a more sustainable urban Europe.

Previously at WRI, as Chief of Party to the Clean Air Catalyst, Steven provided strategic direction and management of the flagship clean air project implemented by WRI country offices in Indore, Nairobi and Jakarta.

Steven is a program manager, researcher, process facilitator and systems design advisor working at the intersections of climate, cities, air quality and innovation.

For the last 11 years, he has worked closely with municipalities and businesses to support their efforts in transitioning faster and more systemically to a climate safe future, while being based in South Africa, Ghana and Kenya. Prior to joining WRI, Steven did this work at Dark Matter Labs, UN-Habitat, the Local Government Information Unit and ICLEI - Africa.

Steven has a Masters in Gender Studies (Linkoping, Sweden), a Professional Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development (Middlesex, UK) and a Bachelors in Geography (Cambridge, UK).

Steven is also a father, trail runner, commuter cyclist and baker (in that order!)
