Saabira Chaudhuri is an editor for WRI in London where she edits global research across topics including climate, energy, food, forests and oceans. She is also a freelance environmental and business journalist and the author of the award-winning book Consumed - How Big Brands Got Us Hooked on Plastic, which was named one of the Financial Times' Best Books of 2025.

Previously, Saabira was a reporter at the Wall Street Journal where she spent over 12 years on staff. She has also worked for Forbes, Fast Company, Dow Jones newswires and the financial newspaper Mint. She was named the Wall Street Journal's Asia fellow to New York University, where she earned an MA in Business and Economic Reporting. Saabira grew up in Bangalore, India. Her name is pronounced Saaa-bi-ra.
