Laura is a Project Manager in the Food, Land and Water Program at WRI Colombia, where she leads initiatives aimed at promoting the sustainable management of territories and the protection and restoration of strategic ecosystems. Her work integrates land use, forest conservation, water management and biodiversity, with the goal of generating solutions that strengthen territorial resilience and contribute to the well-being of communities and nature.

Previously, she served as manager of WRI’s Cities4Forests initiative, where she worked on integrating nature-based solutions into infrastructure investment projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has led projects in Colombia, Costa Rica and Honduras, and has worked with water and sanitation companies, energy companies, financial institutions, and national and subnational governments to develop strategies that promote greater knowledge of and increased investment in nature-based solutions for climate adaptation.

She holds a master’s degree in International Relations, with a focus on Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment, from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and is an economist from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

In her free time, Laura enjoys reading, traveling and hiking.
