Alison Cinnamond
Head of Communications (Acting)
Alison Cinnamond is the Head of Communications for WRI, currently serving in an acting role. She leads institutional communications and supports the organization's global communications function. She shapes organization-wide positioning, develops strategic communications for senior leadership and leads work on institutional influence. Most recently, she has helped shape WRI's thinking on how artificial intelligence is transforming the information ecosystem—and what this means for the future of evidence, trust and influence.
Prior to WRI, Alison worked in global non-profits and in the private sector to drive impactful cross border communications campaigns. Through her work in South Africa, the United States, Switzerland, Vietnam, China, Japan, Bangladesh, and Qatar, she has led major media campaigns and worked with policymakers at the highest levels. She is an accomplished writer and has been published in leading publications across the globe.
Alison lives in Washington DC with her husband Don; her two children Bailey and Calla; and her dogs Mimi and Luna.
