Zach Roberts
City Energy Engagement Intern, WRI US Energy
Zach Roberts is the city energy engagement intern on the US Energy Team. He provides research and support to help local governments engage with energy system decision makers and pursue their clean energy goals.
Before coming to WRI, Zach spent a year in Vermont serving in AmeriCorps as a water quality planner at the Addison County Regional Planning Commission. There, he helped administer clean water project funding and guided organizations and towns through the application and implementation process. He also has experience in solar and clean air policy and advocacy through earlier internships with Solar United Neighbors and CleanAIRE NC.
Zach holds a BA in Government and Environmental Policy from the College of William & Mary, as well as a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment, concentrating in energy, economics, and policy. He is based in Washington, DC. Outside of WRI, he enjoys wandering through nature, as well as cooking/baking, playing the mountain dulcimer, writing, and theatre.
