Bruno Batista
Senior Active Mobility Analyst, WRI Brasil

Bruno is part of the Urban Mobility team at WRI Brasil, where he focuses on sustainable urban mobility. Over the past 8 years, he has gained experience in road safety, street design, public transport, and urban planning, supporting projects in more than 30 cities.
His academic background includes a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), where he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on transport. Before joining WRI Brasil, he also studied Urban Planning at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands.
Some of the key highlights of his training include an international certification from Newcastle University in road safety audits and inspections, and the completion of the Global Road Safety Leadership Course, offered by Johns Hopkins University in partnership with the Global Road Safety Partnership. He also participated in the Local Pathways Fellowship, a United Nations initiative led by SDSN Youth, focused on leadership for sustainable urban development, and he is a member of the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.
