Adriana Jakovcevic
Senior Road Safety Specialist, WRI Brasil Ross Center for Sustainable Cities

Adriana Jakovcevic is a Senior Road Safety Specialist in the Urban Mobility team of WRI Brasil. She works to give support to Latin American cities and countries to develop and strengthen their road safety policies in the context of Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety. She engages with local authorities, to elaborate and monitor road safety plans and to identify infraestrucuture projects that will benefit from WRI support. She develops technical reports and guidelines for the cities and organizes seminars and capacity building workshops.
Adriana previously worked as Manager of the Road Safety Observatory of Buenos Aires City developing its road safety data system. She has done research on environmental and traffic psychology to understand how to encourage citizens’ sustainable behaviors, especially those related to mobility. She has also evaluated the impact of infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists on their comfort and safety perceptions. Her work was published in Journals as Transportation Research part F and Journal of Environmental Psychology.
Adriana holds a PhD in Psychology from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina. She has completed a postdoc in Environmental Psychology in CONICET and the University of Groningen.
Adriana lives in Buenos Aires, and she loves nature, hiking and cycling.
