Juliana Echeverri is currently a Policy Research Associate for the Global Restoration Initiative, where she supports the Restoration Enable Strategy and the implementation of multiple projects. In this role, she leverages her experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and working closely with country representatives to strengthen enabling conditions for landscape and ecosystem restoration.

Prior to this, Juliana served as an Associate for Technical Assistance & Capacity Building for the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People (HAC). She supported the HAC Secretariat’s efforts to connect technical assistance providers with the needs of 117 member countries, facilitating the knowledge and capacity required to meet the global goal of protecting at least 30% of the world’s land, inland waters and ocean by 2030.

With over 12 years of experience in biodiversity mainstreaming, Juliana has worked with public and private institutions at local, regional, and national levels. She was part of the GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) team for six years, delivering technical assistance to national and local governments in Latin America. She has held positions at major environmental organizations including the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), focusing on biodiversity conservation.

Juliana holds a Graduate Certificate in Customer Experience from Universidad de La Sabana, where she received recognition for the best applied project, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia. She has published various articles and book chapters on biodiversity conservation, urban ecosystems, and capacity building.

In her free time, Juliana enjoys traveling, puzzling, exploring natural areas, and relaxing at the beach.
