What were the trends in forest loss, what are the factors that continue to drive this loss, and are there countries successfully reducing deforestation? And, what’s needed to meet the ambitious pledge made by over 100 countries at COP26 to halt and reverse deforestation and land degradation by 2030?

Each year, the World Resource Institute’s Global Forest Watch team provides its analysis on the annual tree cover loss data from the University of Maryland, showing when and where forest loss occurred around the world. The tree cover loss data, in-depth analysis, and expert insights on the state of the world’s forests will be released on the Global Forest Review on Thursday, April 28.

To learn more about the 2021 tree cover loss data, join global experts from WRI on Thursday, April 28 at 9 AM ET for an overview and analysis.
