Varun is a Senior Project Associate with the Climate Program at World Resources Institute India where he contributes to the organization’s research on carbon markets, low-carbon development pathways, linkages between climate policy and sustainable development, and climate action in the corporate sector.

He previously worked at the Confederation of Indian Industry and comes to WRI with experience in the areas of greenhouse gas inventory and reporting at the corporate and national level, corporate sustainability standards, and environmental policy.

Varun holds a master’s degree in Environment and Natural Resource Management from the University of Freiberg, Germany, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Pune, India.

He currently resides in Mumbai and enjoys reading, cooking, travelling, and blues music.
