Valeria is the Climate and Ecosystems Manager at WRI Mexico. Her role involves overseeing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects, with a focus on the restoration and conservation of coastal ecosystems as a measure of adaptation and mitigation to climate change. Valeria also coordinates NbS research projects that consider economic, social, and environmental variables. In addition, she collaborates with counterparts and partners to design and disseminate policy proposals.

Valeria holds a Biotechnology Engineering degree from Tec de Monterrey and a master's degree in Environment and International Development from the University of Melbourne. She has also completed several post-graduate diplomas, including environmental public policy, corporate finance, carbon markets, and forest compensation credits.

Valeria's previous experience includes working at GIZ and the Latin American Think Tank in Australia. She has collaborated with various institutions, including Future Business Generation and Natura y Ecosistemas Mexicanos.
