Solomon Tsehay is currently working as senior economist for the New Climate Economy, WRI Africa Office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Prior to joining WRI, he has been working as an assistant professor at Addis Ababa University, College of Development Studies for three years. He has taught applied research for PhD candidates and MSc students. He has also been advising both PhD candidates and MSc students. Solomon is an economist with expertise in economic modeling, econometrics and impact evaluation with intensive years of experience in research and development. He has also been a research fellow for Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) and, in collaboration with his colleagues of Addis Ababa University, carried out a research that examined the impact of resource reallocation across industrial sectors on poverty and income inequality in Ethiopia. His current project engages in water modeling in Ethiopia.

Solomon holds a Ph.D in Agri. Economics from Justus Liebig University of Giessen in Germany, M.Sc. and BA in Economics from Addis Ababa University.
