Shweta Prajapati is the Senior Communications Associate with the Sustainable Landscapes and Restoration team at the World Resource Institute India. She provides strategic communication support to the team, develops engaging communication formats and manages overall programme outreach.

With a keen interest on issues of climate change, agriculture and water, Shweta has worked extensively in rural geographies of India as a development communication professional as well as a social researcher. Prior to joining the World Resource Institute India, she has worked with several organisations including CIPT-Columbia Water Centre, Development Alternatives, TERI School of Advanced Studies, and National Bank For Agriculture And Rural Development (NABARD), among others. Shweta’s professional journey is driven by her passion for communication with local communities on environmental issues.

With a master’s in Development Communication and Extension from University of Delhi, Shweta holds a specialisation in environment communication. Apart from this, her educational training includes research, governance and public policy, that also connects to her on-going doctoral work on Climate Policy in India.

Shweta loves exploring new places for their culture and food. An ardent reader of fiction, she also enjoys writing and reading Hindi and Urdu poetry.
