Shannon Wood
Legislative Engagement Assistant, U.S. Climate

Shannon Wood is a Legislative Engagement Assistant working with the US Climate Team on congressional engagement and conducting policy research.
Before joining the WRI team, Shannon spent a year working for Panasonic's Smart Mobility Office researching and advocating for decarbonizing technology policy in the transportation sector. She has experience in climate policy relating to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from her time at the World Wildlife Fund. She also spent time interning on a congressional campaign and in the legislative offices of Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI-8) and Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI).
Shannon received her B.A. in Political Science with minors in Sustainability Studies and Journalism & Mass Communications from the George Washington University. She is working towards a MPS in Legislative Affairs from GW's Graduate School of Political Management.
Shannon enjoys spending her free time going on camping trips, visiting National Parks, and taking her labradoodle on walks.
