Shannon Wood is a Legislative Engagement Analyst in WRI's Climate Program. As a member of the Government Affairs team, Shannon's work focuses on conducting policy analysis, supporting and conducting congressional engagement, as well as contributing to research projects at the Institute to advance climate-friendly and clean energy policy.

Before joining the WRI team, Shannon worked for Panasonic's Smart Mobility Office researching and advocating for decarbonizing technology policy in the transportation sector. She has previous experience in climate policy and on Capitol Hill from her time at the World Wildlife Fund and in the legislative offices of Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI-8) and Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI).

Shannon received her B.A. in Political Science with minors in Sustainability Studies and Journalism & Mass Communications from the George Washington University.

Shannon lives in Washington D.C. and enjoys spending her free time in nature, traveling to National Parks, and visiting her family in Michigan.
