Selam is the Operations Director for the WRI Africa office in Ethiopia, supporting WRI's work throughout the continent. She brings over 17 years of finance, grants, contract, operations and project management experience having worked in the bilateral, civil society, and the private sectors in Ethiopia.

She previously worked at the British Council in the areas of program coordination as well as heading the finance and resources teams. Before this, she worked with various international organizations including the European Union, GIZ and the Carter Centre. Her experience ranges from being an Accountant and a Program Coordinator to managerial and leadership responsibilities.

Selam has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor's in Accounting and Management Information Systems.
