Sanya Bery
Just Transitions and Equitable Climate Action Intern

Sanya Bery is the Just Transitions and Equitable Climate Action Intern in the International Climate Action department. She works to expand on WRI’s Just Transition and Equitable Climate Action Resource Center, which provides studies of initiatives around the world and shares lessons for how workers and communities can benefit from the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
Passionate about equity within the climate movement, prior to joining WRI Sanya worked on building resilience within vulnerable gulf communities, and as an activist with Sunrise Movement. Her research has appeared in the Urban Affairs Review.
Sanya is currently a dual Master's Candidate at the University of Michigan, pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainability and Development and a Master of Urban Planning. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Wesleyan University.
