Sabareesh Suresh is a Senior Associate with the Climate Resilience Practice program at World Resources Institute India. He currently works on mainstreaming adaptation and resilience into development and enhancing readiness to access climate finance in India.

Before joining World Resources Institute India, Sabareesh was associated with Athena Infonomics – a global consulting organization where he anchored several urban assignments that range from Affordable housing to Sustainable mobility. He is interested in strategies for urban resilience, financing climate action and localization of the SDGs. Over the years he has engaged with multilateral agencies like World Bank, AFD, and some state governments in India in carrying out sectoral analysis of urban management, finance, and urban governance reforms. He is also a global mentor to the United Nations SDSN Youth Local pathways fellowship program and a member with the Global Shaper’s Community (an initiative of the World Economic Forum).

Sabareesh holds a bachelor’s in Architecture from Faculty of Built Environment and Sustainable Habitat, Sathyabama University and a master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT university. He also holds an executive MBA with a specialization in Business Analytics from NMIMS.
