Rida Fayyaz is a summer intern in the US Clean Energy Team. She is supporting WRI’s work to help U.S. cities take advantage of clean energy opportunities and incentives introduced through the federal Inflation Reduction Act.

Rida is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the University of California - Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy. While in graduate school, she worked as a Graduate Student Consultant for the California Energy Commission where she developed a needs assessment and deployment strategy for curbside EV charging for California. Rida has also served as a Research Assistant at the California Department of Technology in support of California’s State Digital Equity Plan and as a Graduate Student Consultant for the City of Woodland conducting an analysis of the city’s Climate Action Plan.

Prior to graduate school, Rida worked as an Engineering Project Manager at Apple where she led a team in the development of connector and battery technologies for new product lines, and as a Technical Project Manager at Tesla where she managed a team of engineers and contractors in the installation and commissioning of manufacturing lines. Rida earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

She lives in San Francisco with her husband. She enjoys attending concerts, hiking, and traveling in her free time.
