Dr Olaf Erenstein is the Director Research Integrity, Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) based at WRI The Hague. He inter alia supports the development of a FOLU research strategy, oversees quality assurance for knowledge products, promotes research excellence and ensures strategic alignment. 

He is an agri-food systems R&D professional with a multi-disciplinary background and some 3 decades of experience in the Global South, including being posted and working in Africa (West, eastern & southern), South Asia and Mexico. Prior to joining WRI, much of his international career was associated with the CGIAR focusing on research for development in agri-food and land use systems and the environmental and development implications. Previously he was Socio-Economics Program Director for 8 years with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), based at its headquarters in Mexico. 

Olaf holds a PhD and MSc in agricultural development economics from Wageningen University, Netherlands and an MSc in tropical agronomy from Wageningen University and has an established publication record (115 journal publications recognized in Scopus, with a h-index 33).
