Nathalie Badaoui is Senior Manager for Integrated Climate Action at WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. She leads the development of WRI’s strategy to support cities in emerging economies in integrating climate action into their planning, financing, policy implementation and evaluation processes across different sectors.
Nathalie is an urban development and governance specialist with extensive experience in supporting Global South cities towards more sustainable and inclusive development. Her experience with cities comes from over 9 years working with and within local governments including organizations as São Paulo State Government, São Paulo’s City Hall Public Government Innovation Lab (011.lab), UN-Habitat and LSE Cities.
Prior to joining WRI, Nathalie worked at C40 Cities as adviser to the City of São Paulo where she technically coordinated the city’ Paris Agreement-aligned Climate Action Plan, PlanClima SP - a bold strategy to halve the city’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, reach carbon neutrality by 2050, increase the city’s resilience to climate hazards and reduce social and economic inequalities. More recently, Nathalie supported C40 Cities in global advocacy efforts for an inclusive and just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies.
Nathalie holds a Master of Science in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master on Urban Governance from Sciences Po Paris.
