Marisa Sandoval
Knowledge Management Officer, Global Restoration Initiative

Marisa Sandoval is a Knowledge Management Officer for the Global Restoration Initiative. As part of the GRI project management team she supports internal communications and knowledge management strategy to improve sharing and collaboration across the global team.
Prior to joining WRI, Marisa has worked on numerous conservation and climate programs, campaigns, and communications. As a Campaigns Coordinator at National Wildlife Federation, she supported national grassroots advocacy campaigns and brings deep rooted experience in program operations and systems management. She brings further experience in communications and coordinating global teams from a graduate internship at World Wildlife Fund.
Marisa recently graduated from an international dual master’s program and holds an M.A. in International Affairs from American University’s School of International Service and an M.A. in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the U.N. University for Peace in San José, Costa Rica.
Marisa lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Ryan, and their two cats, Raava and Nova. She is from Denver, CO and is an avid outdoor lover who enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring new places to connect with nature.
