Maris Yurdana is a Special Projects Coordinator for the Climate and Economics programs. She supports the development and execution of key program events, strategies, and meetings and directly supports the Program Leadership.

Prior to joining WRI, Maris co-founded We All Rise, a Black-owned consulting firm driving inclusive and resilient community development. She previously held positions at U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, a cross-sector network supporting diplomacy and development investments; Socialab Uruguay, a subsidiary of Latin America’s largest social entrepreneurship incubator; and Sustainable Northwest, a West Coast nonprofit pioneering inclusive natural resource solutions.

Maris holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Loyola University Chicago’s School of Environmental Sustainability, where she was the recipient of the 2020 Wangari Muta Maathai Award for Outstanding Service. In 2018, she participated in the Swedish Newman Institute Environment and Justice Program, studying under Former Swedish Minister for the Environment, Andreas Carlgren.
