Marcia MacNeil is Senior Communications Manager, Land and Forests, where she is working to expand the visibility and impact of the Land & Carbon Lab for sustainable land management and resilient landscapes.

Prior to joining WRI, Marcia spent three years in Mexico at CIMMYT, an international research organization dedicated to climate-resilient, biodiverse, and equitable agriculture, where she most recently led their global Communications division.

Marcia’s background includes translating scientific content and developing strategic comms for international development organizations and think tanks such as the International Food Policy Research Institute, the USAID Demographic and Health Surveys project, and the Brookings Institution.

Marcia holds a B.A. in English and French from Goucher College and a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication from American University. She lives with her husband and two boys in a Colombian-American bi-cultural family, just a short bike ride away from WRI’s DC Office.
